What are you looking at?

To build upon my slideshow of pictures demonstrating cellphone applications as they manifest in our lives I will be creating a video. I hope to integrate the opinions of many different people and how are lives are affected. As opposed to the slideshow, however, I hope to convey hope how apps can negatively affect people as the serve to disconnect us from others.

Step 1

These pictures above portray what I hope to be the first part of my project. This first part hopefully would be a bunch of snap individual interviews. This methodology would harness the technique of spatial jump cuts and psychological closure.

For example I would ask one question such as—”When is the last time you used a cellphone app?” to one person and then show their answer and then make a jump cut through multiple answers from many different random people. My plan would be to ask about 3 initial questions which are answered by multiple people using jump cut. The point of the jump cut would be so that the question would only have to asked once.

In-between these initial questions I would incorporate b-roll of people using their cellphones for reasons that seemingly are good or bad from the outside perspective.

Step 2

These pictures above portray what I hope to be the first part of my project. This first part hopefully would be a bunch of snap individual interviews.

Then I plan for the main hunk of my project to model the first person of perspective of someone without a cellphone and all of its applications for a day. What would their day look like without the one stop shop for everything we use. Think about what a cellphone is—its our calculator, its our flashlight, its our newspaper, its our camera, its our communication, its our banking, its our map, its our on the go access to the internet, its our weather, its our entertainment, and even more . . .

Step 3

My final step would be to end with thought provoking questions about how you use your cellphone and if ultimately affects you in a negative or positive way.

Are you a person that can use your cellphone without it affecting your connections with others?
